there are some things that need discussing.
Firstly, and most obviously, the fact that Chris got voted off American Idol. I know I'm not the first, or the most outraged, to comment on this, but come on, America! Here's how voting works. You pick the person who's the best singer / entertainer, and you vote for them. You don't say, hmm, maybe I'll vote for someone else, because for sure Chris will win, because chances are, if you're thinking that, so are other people. Jerks. Anyway, I'm not too worried about him, he's a hottie and he'll get signed and probably make decent music instead of the horrible, forced Idol songs. I think maybe one of the reasons I liked him so much is that he reminded the fiancé and I of our dear friend Mitch. We called him Big Mitch, before we could be bothered to remember his name. Also, because the last post I made about tv, I got a bunch of flack from the aforementioned ML, I feel the need to say that I do, in fact, have hobbies other than tv watching. I draw, I paint, I garden, sort of. I'm doing a mural on my sweet boy's wall, all of which is drawn, and North America is painted. I go for walks, I garden, badly, I play with my sweet boy, I occasionally go on dates with the fiancé. I do press alt+130 every time to make that accent, because I'm an English teacher, and I like things to look the way they're supposed to look.
Speaking of teaching, I have gone back to work. I'm in at basically one school, but they call me 2-3 days a week, which is fine. I've done a day at a couple of other schools, and there's only a month of school left anyway. This summer is going to be interesting. I told the fiancé I'd go live with my parents for the summer, but it really doesn't cost that much extra for us to live at the house, the mortgage payment won't go down, and I don't think the groceries really go up that much with an extra person. Not double, anyway. Plus I'd be pretty lonely I think. I've gotten pretty attached to him. We've been together over 6 years now, and have lived together for 5. I realised that when I was filling out the census form. We lucked out (ha) and got the extended, 60 question version. Sweet. Luckily, I didn't have to answer the majority of the questions for the baby. I did have to look on the 'help' sheet though, to see what to put for what language he most often speaks at home. Gibberish not being an option, you see.
What else. We're at the in-law's house for the weekend, headed into the raging metropolis of Moncton for a night out tomorrow. Dinner and a movie type thing. Not sure what movie we're going to, I was very hopeful that The Breakup had come out, but not yet. I do enjoy Vince Vaughan. I still go to the Wedding Crashers memorable quotes page every now and then, for a laugh.
I think we've just about got all the wedding stuff sorted, I'm just waiting on the go-ahead on the caterers, and that'll be a big part settled. We're still working on a tent, and I have to get to Hali sometime for a dress fitting, but before that, I want to get some proper undergarments, since I really don't have any suitable wedding, strapless, underthings. I'm sure they're expensive, but whatever. Hopefully I'm only going to do this once.
