ho ho ho

as is expected, I had a lovely big post typed up, and then my computer froze. I hadn't selected all and copied like I normally do, because it usually only freezes when you hit publish, not just on random occasions. Sigh. And it didn't save a draft.

I've been busy, basically. Work, the boy, the time of year. I'm all done my shopping. We were on a budget this year, as most years I suppose, but I think I did alright. My sister and I went in together on a gift for Mom, and I figured something out for Dad. It's tricky without wish lists. I have one, but it's not very practical for the most part. I bought my sister something she already has, so I'll have to think of something else, so I guess technically I'm not done. But I was, for like an evening.

The boy is busy busy. He still isn't saying much, but does say "no" in response to almost all questions. Do you want a snack? Nnnnno. He really sounds like he's thinking about it. Do you want to watch a video? Nnnnnno. When he really means it, he says "nonononononono!" He'll sometimes specifically request juice, and he points to the field where there have been cows all year but there aren't anymore, and says very excitedly "cow!". All the important stuff. He now wants very much to cuddle the cats, but his methods aren't really all that gentle. He tries any way he can think of, sometimes good, others not so much, to pick them up, and they lies down with them and laughs because he's so excited. Silly boy.

We went to print off some pictures for his "real" album and some to give out for Christmas yesterday. I nearly broke my elbow on the car door frame, but ended up with an incredibly sore, yet incredibly tiny, bruise instead. The boy was a champ at Superstore, I bribed him with raisins and milk in a carton (much more exciting than milk in a cup, apparently) to sit in the cart while I picked up a few things and then chose and edited the pictures to print.

I locked my keys in my car the day before yesterday. Brilliant, I know. And you'd think there'd be some kid who would know how to break into a car, but without the power lock option, they're useless. I had to call the garage that's just up the hill here, and they only charged me $10, so not too bad. I think I'll have an extra key made for just such an emergency and keep it in my purse.

I've given thought (again) to abandoning this site, but every now and then I get inspired to share with strangers and not so strangers, so I figure I'll just post whenever, and whoever checks checks. Christmas break should be pretty postable. All the parents have highspeed, which is nice.

I'm going to post this before I get kicked off again. Christmas break is fast approaching, and we have our Christmas concert / play today. Rehearsal all morning, early lunch (since we'll have to start getting ready for the real play this afternoon early too), and then real play this afternoon with parents and stuff. Tomorrow is a real day, as far as the day before the last (half) day of school can be. Friday is a half day, with class parties and a dance. Sweet.

later skaters.
