finally

it's Friday. I'm tired, and I'm not having fun with most of my classes right now. They're just lazy shits, and I found out today that one of my grade 11 students FAILED GRADE 10 ART last year. Somehow he is allowed to take art this year? I don't think so. I'm going to find out if this is true, and if it's a pre-requisite, someone is going to catch hell for letting him in. I didn't think to check on that, I thought they would enforce pre-requisites. If art 10 is not a pre-req for 11, I'm going to lobby hard core that it be made so, because this is rediculous. They fail art, or do very poorly, but are allowed to continue on, and sit and do nothing. This particular student is not passing right now, we'll see what happens.

on a lighter note, Grant is supposedly on his way here, although as usual he didn't call to let me know what's going on. I brought the 'ways to maintain healthy insanity' and a really funny thing about how teachers get paid too much, into school today and posted them in the mail room, which gave everyone some giggles. I think Friday Funnies are a great idea, I'm going to try to do that from now on, so if you have any general funnies, or teacher-specific funnies, send 'em my way. They have to be relatively clean, sadly, because the SRC kids have a mailbox in there too.

I'm pretty tired. I'm going bowling tomorrow night with the staff from school. I'm a miserable bowler, but there's a bar there so it should be a good time. I'm going to try to convince Grant to come with, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope, because he's rediculously busy, what with the 7 courses and all.

one final happy note, today it did NOT rain during lunch, first day all week. Also, this weekend is time change weekend, fall back, so it won't be pitch black when I get up in the morning! For a couple of weeks....
