I was fairly alarmed to read this. There are lots of products on there, notably (because we have them) the Little Tikes Flashlights, some of which are painted with lead paint. LEAD PAINT. WTF, folks? Lead has been a known no-no, especially for the little guys, for a long time now. More alarmingly were the Reebok bracelets, again made of LEAD, free gift with purchase of kids' shoes. Tragically, this was discovered when a child died as a result of this completely unbelievable oversight. There were a lot of lead-related jewellery recalls from dollar stores, so I'd recommend not buying your little ones cheap shiny things. Spring for the moderately more expensive but still cheap nickel ones. Please. I hadn't even thought to check product recalls for a while, I stumbled across the site completely by accident when looking for something unrelated. Good thing I did, because lead paint is bad news, and the babe (like all babes) loves to chew everything he owns.
