halifax, and a snowstorm

wtf? It's like, snowing snowing here. My sister tells me it's hailing in Fredericton, also nice. We just this past weekend got the studded snow tires off the car, and put the all seasons back on. Of course. Easter found us, and left a foolish amount of candy. Even the babe got a chocolate bunny, but I can't see that he'll get to eat much of it. We got I think one of every type of Easter candy available at a typical store, each. So, 2 of every type. So, if you're in the neighbourhood, come on over for some chocolately goodness.

Sidebar from Canada AM: eat more dark, leafy greens, cruciferous veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, turnip), "heat processed tomato products" (sauce, juice, etc). Eat less red meat (less than 3oz per serving, yipes), eat no processed meats if possible, and drink less alcohol (no more than 7 drinks per week for ladies, 9 for the menfolk). Man, sounds like fun. This is to reduce your chance of cancer. I'll have to work on the veggies part, but I don't drink much or eat a lot of red meat, so I've got that covered.

Tried to do some yard work this week, but very quickly got overwhelmed by the size of the yard and the remarkably slow progress I was making. We really, really should have mowed last fall, but didn't, so now we have like, hay length grass all matted down over the yard. We've got a weed whacker now though, so will take that to the long stuff, and then raking won't be quite so impossible. Theoretically. We're going to get a lawnmower too, but it'll be a while before the lawn is fit, or dry enough, to mow.

My mom and the babe and I are going to have lunch with my aunt today, should be nice. I'm not sure where we're going though. I might also check for the new Train cd at Costco if we head that way. I do enjoy Train's music. It's reliably good.

Other random notes, I think we'll get the wedding invites started, I'm receiving conflicting advice on how far in advance they should be sent out, everything from righ tnow to 6 weeks ahead, so we're going to go somewhere in the middle I guess. Went to the craft store to see if we could get some beads and wire and stuff to make a headband to wear for the wedding.

You probably heard about this. Pretty crazy. Apparently people were in pretty good humour though, which is nice to hear. On Regis and Kelly, Kelly just keeps talking about how it must have been bad because lots of people don't pee at work, assuming they'll be able to pee at home in 5 minutes. This show is terrible. Regis doesn't know who anybody is, and Kelly is just foolish most of the time.

I'm going to go shower I think.
