For all the times you wondered....which Care Bear am I?, now you can find out. I'm Cheer Bear. I have a bit of an obsession with online quizzes. Sometimes you find out surprising thigs about yourself, which is always entertaining.

Music you should be listening to too:
John Mayer (I again recommend 'Comfortable', but thus far, it's all good)
Ryan Adams (same goes, 'Amy' is nice)
David Grey (yeah, all good)
Jack Johnson (esp 'Bubbly Toes', mainly for the name...)
Jamiroquai (loving 'Little L', very cool in a retro Kool & the Gang kind of way)
Dirty Vegas ('Days Go By' - radio edit, no crazy remixes)
Ben Kweller (sounds suspiciously like Ben Folds at times, but good regardless)
Dispatch (different sound, like they would be awesome live)
Hmm, those are all boys. Holly McNarland has a new album out, which is good stuff.
editor's note: My sweet and loving sister ERIN (with the wagoneer, Hank the Tank) has been listening to most of these bands for a while now, and would like credit for that.

heavens. Have just had a little adventure. Went to Future Shop to get a cd player for el Neon, as it is seriously lacking in the audio department, having only a radio. Went, found a nice one, and somehow got swaggled into getting the 4-year warantee as well as a Future Shop card. How does that happen? It seems like such a good idea when you're in the store...hard to explain. But the FS card does let me not pay for 3 months, which is always a bonus, isn't it? I think the idea is that you pay it before the 3 months is up, but we'll see how that goes.
adventure part 2 - I noticed that my driver's side wiper was behaving rather crappily, and upon closer inspection that it was cracked. When I picked it up off the windshield, the rubber wipey part fell right off, along with half of the hard plastic part that holds said wipey thing on. So, time for a new wiper I guess. Off to Canadian Tire. Meant also to get a tire pressure guage, as mine has gone missing, very mysterious, but forgot, natch. So, I'm in the parking lot, looking like a complete twit trying to get the defective wiper off, to no avail. A very nice man in a Codiac Transit truck came out of the store, put his stuff in his truck, and tried to help, but the damn thing wouldn't come off. I did very much appreciate the help though. I didn't even have to shoot him a look of desperation, he just came over and said "usually they just pop right off!". Anyway, ended up having to take the new wiper over to the garage guys and have one of them professinally install it for me. Even he didn't really know what was going on. He said, "you didn't want to keep your old wiper did you?" I told him to crack it in half if he had to. All in all, not a bad day, the new wiper works wonderfully.

Not impressed. Not only did my silly-ass boyfriend not tell me that we were out of catfood, or buy some himself, but it's only available through vets, so the boys have been on a diet of sorts this weekend. So I go out, first thing this morning, when I would much rather be sleeping, because my sleeping in seems less important than the cats' eating (this makes me a good person, right?), only to find out that said food costs $50 per 10lb bag. Ouch. So I'm going to see if there are any other options, because I love my cats, but that's a lot of money. This does beat the alternative of them being sick every couple of months, but not by a lot I'm afraid...the cost would be about the same, which is sad.
They're awfully cute though, Mort being twice as big as George, but George can knock Mort over like nothing, and they play with their toys and lick eachother (which Grant finds kind of gross, but I find really cute, hehe) and they both have mutant paws with thumbs on them. So I guess I'll keep buying the hideously expensive vet food. Maybe it's cheaper in the states and I can get mom to bring some up. It's nice to have connections.

Ok, so the TLC man is on crack, all women polled thus far have longer ring fingers. Only slightly unfortunate, as I apparently do not necessarily have hidden athletic talent. Alas. In my blog wanderings, I have come across a few pages worth note. One, being the page that introduced me to blogging, is throughyoureyes dot com. Interesting, and also where I found out that that song they keep playing on the radio is by John Mayer, with whom I am somewhat in love. The second, is Quantum Tunnels , which has some really good stuff on it, take some time and read through the archives. Also, it has links to highly entertaining pages such as Engrish.com which is really really funny stuff. I recommend the Recent Discoveries section. Enjoy. I also like this guy's page because his lists are really good. For example, the top 5 songs. I had 3, and downloaded a 4th, a Ryan Adams song, which I'm very much enjoying. Advice from random strangers...can't beat it.

ACK! I have MAN HANDS! Ok. I was watching a TLC special, and they were demonstrating how on women's hands, the index finger is longer than the ring finger. On men, the opposite. So I'm holding my hands up, comparing them to the tv hands, and mine are MAN HANDS. My ring finger is definitely longer than my index finger. They went on to explain that the reason for this is exposure to testosterone in utero, and that men whose ring fingers are significantly longer were exposed to more testosterone and thus have better natural athletic ablility. Well..I'm hoping that this guy is full of crap, although he was able to predict the winner of a race based on this theory. But then I was thinking, ok, maybe I have this athletic gift that I just haven't discovered yet! Maybe indeed....
SO..please look at your fingers, and let me know which is longer! It's an emergency. Other than that, the show was good, it was called "building a human" or something. There's another one on next Monday, which I get to watch cause I'm working, but after that, we'll have to get cable or something. I have to go back to bed.

Erin got her Wagoneer. It's beautiful, no? She drove it up yesterday from my parent's place. The gas guage doesn't work, but I think other than that it's a pretty sweet ride.

Spontawhatiny?
Ah, late night tv. Not only is tv sweet at 6:30am, as per my previous log, but it is also pretty damn sweet at ah...1:30am. Matchmaker, on the Life Network (which has a really fun website with quizzes and stuff), is a big step up from Dating Story, but not as offensive as Blind Date, so fun for the whole family. Anyway, part of the show is finding a date for the person who's going to be on the next show. So they're on the beach, talking to these scanitily clad ladies, asking them what they look for in a man. The answers are wonderful. The first one that I had to scratch my head at was "spontanuity". I thought maybe I had misheard, but I really don't think so. So close, but so far. The second, and by far most entertaining answer just for the sheer irony of it was " Intelligence. I really love intelligency."
Yes, my dear, intelligency is obviously very important to you. Thank you for that.
My friend Jenn had told me about this before, but it's just so funny.
that is all.

so yeah, I just renamed the blog, and it makes me happy. Nobody else seems to be enjoying this nearly as much as I am, but that's ok. Mortimer is getting better, but holy he doesn't much care for his pills. He does, however, care for licking George, which is just funny. Grant thinks it makes them gay, but they're both not technically 'male' anymore, so it's all good. They've taken to mutual bathing lately. Strange. I tried to get a picture of it, but it usually degenerates into a fight before I get the chance.
Yeah, there's nothing going on. We're going to look at a couple of apartments tonight, should be fun. Something to do if nothing else. I'm trying to see if it's even worth finding a nice, long term-ish place here, like if Grant plans on coming back here after school. I suppose it doesn't really matter, I'll be here for a while anyway!
haha, I made a movie. You should watch it. Note the initial good time being had by all, quickly regressing to the vampire bite on the neck, which is met with rabbit kicking to the head, and the end of the "moment".

oh, and Morty's fine, he's been eating and playing and rolling around etc, and he just attacked George for no apparent reason. They take turns doing that, so it's all fair. Morty also likes to stand over George and lick him, which George doesn't so much enjoy, and only tolerates it for about 10 seconds before rabbit kicking Mort in the head to get him to stop. It's a very odd relationship. Then the rest of the time, they just ignore each other.
well...you just hold out your hand, and....no. The vet has special litter that doesn't absorb liquid, so you put that in a little pan, and the kitty goes in it, and you suck it up in a syringe, and voila. Cat pee. He's now on drugs for 2 weeks, and a NEW (but sadly, no less expensive than what we had) vet food that is specially designed to dissolve crystals, blah blah blah. So here's hoping. He'll have to be on this food off and on for the rest of his life most likely, and never on regular food at all, always vet food for urinary tract yadda yadda yadda. Anyhoo, off to bed I go, I'm going back to work at 5 for a few hours, it'll be a super easy shift though, there will be 3 of us there until 7:30, and then 2 of us the rest of the time. The times I love my job!
Thursday, July 11
ARGH. Sick Mortimer. We have an appointment at 3, so I have an hour and 20 minutes to get a urine sample from him. Which is fun! I don't know whether he's really tough, or really stupid, cause he's really acting like nothing is wrong. He better not get like, chronic bladder infections, this could get expensive. I'm going to ask them to put him on drugs for a long time, to make sure he's all better. I'm already buying the good food and litter...these cats are so spoiled. I'll let you know what happens.
Wednesday, July 10
we went to see Mr Deeds, it's pretty funny. Pretty stupid, but pretty funny. I'm going to apply to district 8 in Saint John, rumour has it they have some jobs there, and they're actually HIRING NOW, so wish me luck! I'm going to send my stuff tomorrow. Hell, maybe I'll drive it down, what else do I have to do? I'll call them in the morning, see what they say. I'm pretty tired though, I think I'm going to go to bed so that I can get up and hand in my time sheet for work and call the SJ school board.
Nighty night!

I have this habit of downloading songs by people who I have heard one or 2 good songs by. So, I hear this John Mayer bird on the radio, and Grant's brother Brennan had downloaded a couple, one of which is "Your Body is a Wonderland", which is also a very nice, good song. He has really good lyrics. HOWEVER...I have just listened to "Comfortable", which is off of his debut album "Inside Wants Out", and it is just a wonderful, wonderful song. The lyrics are beautiful, and it's just...beautiful. I have to share this with you. Ask me nice and I'll Messenger it to you or something, or get it yourself, or buy the cd. I'm going to see what some of the other songs are like, and if they're good, I'm going to actually spend the $$ and buy it. So, here are the lyrics.
"Comfortable"
I just remembered, that time at the market
snuck up behind me and jumped on my shopping cart
And rode down isle 5
you looked behind you to smile back at me
crashed into a rack full of magazines
they asked us if we could leave.
Can't remember, what went wrong last September
but I'm sure that you'd remind me, if you had to
Our love was
comfortable and
so broken in
I sleep with this new girl I'm still getting used to
my friends all approve, say she's gonna be good for you
they throw me
high fives
She says the Bible is all that she reads
and prefers that I not use profanity
your mouth was
so dirty
Life of the party
and she swears that she's artsy
but you could distinguish
Miles from Coletrain
Our love was
comfortable and
so broken in
she's perfect, so flawless
or so they say, say
She thinks I can't see the smile that shes faking
and poses for pictures that are being taken
I loved you
grey sweat pants, no makeup, so perfect
Our love was
comfortable and
so broken in
she's perfect, so flawless
I'm not impressed, I want you back.

Yeah, we had a lot of rain, maybe some hail, thunder etc. It was cool. I was at work, so it wasn't as cool as it would have been if I was home. Then I woke up the next morning with some kind of disgusting flu, but it seems to be almost gone now, which is nice, since I'm supposed to go to Rexton for Brennan's grad supper party thing. Well, plus throwing up just sucks. I rented Shallow Hal and Rare Birds yesterday to entertain myself whilst getting high on gravol (which did nothing for the nausea, but made me a total space case). Shallow Hal was pretty good, Rare Birds wasn't very good. It's Canadian, and I had high hopes, the preview looked good, but alas...too many plot lines going on and just not good. Anyway, I have to get dressed and stuff, and maybe pick up a few more things for Grant for his b-day, it's tomorrow. And eat something, good lord. I just had some toast, but that's just not going to do.
Wednesday, July 3
I have so many bug bites I am seriously considering having my lower legs removed, because that's where the little bastards bit me, about 100 times. It's sick, I look like I hav a disease or something. On the plus side, since it was sort of Grant's fault, since I got eaten while watching his softball game, he sprung for me to get some stuff to take the itch off, so I did. It's by BandAid, it smells like Vicks VapoRub, but it works. I'm only allowed to use it 3-4 times a day though, as per the instructions. Whatever, what they don't know won't hurt them. Anyway, so I'm gonna go use some...this is time #4, I hope my feet don't fall off. Stupid capri pants, no good for bugs.
Tuesday, July 2
so because you've probably all seen enough of Morty, I thought I'd put up some pics of George, his freak paws, and just him again. He's cute eh? But little, we're working on fattening him up (see Mort). He's already in better shape than he was though, his coat is nice and soft and he's running around more. I had to bath him when we first got him, he didn't care much for that, and then he didn't have the sense to lick himself to dry off a bit, so he was wet for the whole evening. Not smart, but cute.
Monday, July 1
Happy Canada Day from me too! I have no idea where Grant is, which is always fun. There's a new pizza place called Smart Pizza that I'm thinking of getting supper from. I'm not sure if I'm going to the fireworks or not. Maybe a movie? I think I'll call Jenn and see what she's up to. It's not nearly 43 degrees here, sadly. I'm hoping it'll be nice tomorrow, cause I'm working wed-friday.
