we bought the baby a mobile yesterday, and he digs it. It's all fancy, it plays classical music, lullabyes, or white noise (except that the white noise you have to turn up a lot to hear, so then if you switch back to the music you'll be deafened), and has things with apparently interesting patterns that move around, but pause every now and then to let the baby focus. This is all apparently good stuff. And he likes it, and it comes with a remote, which is also cool.
In less fun baby news, yesterday he had such a giant crap while we were at Superstore that I had to wash everything he was touching at the time, including the carseat (which luckily has a removeable, washable cover), and had to rinse him off in the sink, which he did not enjoy but seemed to get used to as I explained to him that it was just like a bath, but with moving water. All that poo, and he hardly kicked up a fuss until I took him out of the seat and was like, hmm, your pants are wet...that's odd. Maybe he sensed my grossed-outedness and was just responding to that.
Either way, gross.

on a more serious note
the Moncton SPCA has way, way too many cats. There are way, way too many really stupid people who don't understand that you shouldn't own pets if you can't afford to properly care for them (get your pets spayed or neutered, Bob Barker agrees..), and they're getting about 30 cats a day now. Sick. Because they need so badly to get these little guys adopted, they're waiving the fee for adopting adult cats, and you just have to pay the spay/neuter deposit if you'd rather a kitten. Go on, get one. Or 2, they like to have a friend. They may try to kill each other at first, but that will stop.

non-baby post!
I only ever did the 2003 one, but there was one last summer too. You should play, no prizes or anything, but it's a fun sort of photographic scavenger hunt. Check it out.
