beefalo?

yeah, I was out with Jenn the other day, on our way to a movie, and we ate at a new place called Billy Rockets. It's just new, Moncton is the first place to have it. Anyway, their signage drew my attention, they had advertised a buffalo steak souvlaki. Now, I wasn't too sure about that, since chicken or pork is the norm for souvlaki, but I was intrigued by the buffalo steak bit. I inquire, and as I do I see the sign, that they use only buffalo meat, no beef. Interesting. I had a burger, and it tasted...like a burger. It was actually really good, it had bacon and bbq sauce and ranch dressing on it, so honestly, the meat could have tasted like anything and it would have been good....no, I joke, I tried a bit of the plain meat sticking out, and it was just beefy. AND, it has like 1/3 the fat of CHICKEN. Its slogan is 'the way beef should taste'. The buffalo meat people, not the restaurant. AND, they get their meat from a local farm, so it's a win-win. Not for the buffalo, but let's not get into that.

pardon me while I try to find you a link....

here you go. I found one that was called "buffalomeatfacts.com" but wasn't as informative, for some inexplicable reason.

Ok, I got thinking about that because Tiresa was telling me how she made shepherd's pie with ground chicken, and it was quite tasty.

On another unrelated note, I spent my prep period today walking around the school with a box of cookies, and giving them away to anyone I came across. People *love* free cookies, I'll tell ya! It was a very relaxing and fun way to spend an hour, which yes, I should have spent doing something productive, but I've been doing entirely too much of that lately, and I needed a break.

I have to go eat supper now!
