I received an email about a week ago "in response to my account query" or something, about how I can go about changing my password. Why the hell would someone want to hack into a blogger account? Useless much? Anyway, so I had to change my password, and I couldn't remember what it was. I do now though, thanks.
We're in Maine for the American version of Thanksgiving with my aunt and uncle and parents and the bebe. I'm anticipating much the same thing as Canadian Thanksgiving, but perhaps with more candied yams and green bean casserole. I've never had either of those (although the first one apparently involves marshmallows, so I'm hoping for that) but they're always on TV Thanksgivings, so it follows that they'll be here in real life. Obviously.
Aliant dial up is so frustrating I'm actually thinking about cancelling the account and just using the fiance's work account in the evenings. So slow. Also, with the monitor not working, it's just not worth the mental anguish.
In other, "companies that suck" news, Rogers does. They keep sending me my bill, even though I paid it off and closed the account 2 months ago. Nicely done, boys. I can't be bothered calling them, because it takes a year to get through to a person, and the automated guy doesn't respond to swearing. I emailed customer service instead.
Hmm. Might go shopping in Augusta tomorrow, they have all kinds of exciting stores like Gap and WalMart. lol. Better than sitting around doing nothing though, and there are all kinds of ridiculous sales the day after Thanksgiving here. Being in Sugarloaf, should probably be going skiing, but that's not in the cards this time around. Wasn't the last time I was here either, since I was all pregnant and stuff. And it was October.
Alright, I've abused the highspeed internet (seriously, am I the only one who doesn't have it? not fair.) enough. Later skaters.

Yay! You're back online, sort of!
Funny you should mention Rogers. Apparently, whoever our cable splitter was connected to in our building decided to not have cable anymore, which means I'm going to have to pay for it myself.
Looking at the Rogers website, though, my question is this: Does regular non-digital cable exist anymore?
So, to answer my own question:
No, it doesn't.
I called to set up cable last night, and apparently since the beginning of November, Rogers is converting all their customers over to digital cable, and no new customers will be on regular cable.
What does this mean?
It means Rogers is making a crap load of money by 1) charging $70 for installation, and 2) Charging at least $40/month for channel packages. Jerks. I really don't like Rogers.
Also, I HATE their voice recognition system. I hate talking knowing that no one is there. It's creepy. Also, I can't scream "get outta here, Sexy" into the phone while I'm waiting for a REAL person. *sigh*
seriously though. He doesn't really understand when you swear at him either. What are you going to do about the cable thing? We went without cable when we lived on First Ave for a couple of months, because they refused to give us free installation. The installation for digital cable is the same as for regular cable. It's just the box that's different. Assholes. Call them back, tell them you want free installation, and if they won't give it to you, tell them you're calling Bell, they do free installation AND a free dish.
