sir poops-a-lot

I try to keep the baby stuff to a minimum on here so as to keep it interesting for my many, varied readers, but man. Babies sure can produce an astounding amount of poop in the run of a day. I'm not sure it's even balanced as far as what goes in vs. what comes out.

enough of that.

Santa found me twice this year, which was pretty nice. We spent Christmas proper at the in-laws place, and headed to my parents place on the 28th. That'll be reversed next year, and then likely we'll start having our own Christmas with visiting afterward. My sister did that this year. Some have said she's the clever one in the family. Anyway, my dear boy cleaned up, as was expected, with lots of toys and clothes. He's mainly interested in things he can throw and chase around at this point, so he loves the Fisher Price peek-a-blocks and rollarounds. So, funnily enough, do the cats. Dear boy will be playing contentedly with a ball, batting it about, and Mort (the cat) will just dive in and swoop it away, and play with it himself. The dear boy doesn't seem to mind, he just finds something else to bat at. For those of you not privvy to his website, he's crawling like a fiend, standing up on everything (if you come visit, make sure your belt is done up, or you may lose your pants in his effort to get upright), and as of yesterday can move sideways while holding on to the couch. In baby-parent circles, this is apparently called "cruising'.

In unrelated news, Wedding Crashers came out on video yesterday. You should all see it. Even my mom liked it, with the exception of Will Ferrell's part. Admittedly, he's a bit much, but it's Will Ferrell, thus it's good. We significantly increased our movie collection over the holidays. Mostly the fiancé did, with my help, but what's his is mine, right? We got A Series of Unfortunate Events (I'm thinking of nicknaming the dear boy Sunny), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Cinderella Man, Amadeus, L.A. Confidential, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, and The Sword in the Stone. Those last 2 are theoretically for the boy, but he can't really appreciate them yet. He did watch one of his Baby Einsteins though.

Sadly, I think that's all my news. Mitch was home over the break, but our being away almost exactly matched his visit, so I only got to see him briefly. I haven't seen my sister yet, we missed each other totally when visiting my parents, and I have yet to see any of my close friends. Weird. I'll have to get on that. If only all these people didn't work, it would be so much easier!
