goin' to the chapel

well, not really the chapel (chappel? that doesn't look right), but we are gonna get married. In one month. Pretty crazy! I go for my fitting on Saturday, hopefully all is a go there. I'm pretty sure I've at least stayed the same size as I was on Valentine's day, if not lost a bit more, so I'm not too worried. We'll see though. They can let dresses out a fair bit, so either way I should be good to go. I had a very productive day of weed whacking, dish doing, and painting continents in the babe's room. The weed whacking was probably the most eventful, with the scaring of me and a small bird who was hiding in the brush I was trying to get rid of. He just kept hopping along and calling to his momma, so I stopped for a few minutes to let him get himself sorted out. I think he was maybe a baby bird who hasn't quite figured out the flying thing yet, since most birds don't live ON THE GROUND. I was a bit traumatised, I think I'll take a break from yard work. I'll keep going on my garden, there are actually things growing now. The tomatoes are getting taller, and there are flowers on the bean plants. Not much going on with the peppers, but the lettuce and cabbage are doing decently. My herbs have pretty much gone to the big herb garden in the sky, but I do have access to a tonne of basil from my neighbour, so I'll just have to make do with that. I have chives too. That's it though, I think. My hydrangea has flowers on it, ranging from a purply pink to blue. It's supposed to be blue, but I don't mind. Also, the morning glory that Erin gave me has grown gangbusters, and has flowers on it. Behold.

...

lovely, no?

So I'm not quite self sufficient with my produce yet, but the yard is starting to look pretty good. It's really big (relative to the apartment yards we've grown used to), so even when you get something done, there's a lot left. We're getting there though. There's some major clearing to be done down closer to the water, we're sort of losing our view now that things have leaves. We'd also like to make a patio around the house, and a path down to the aforementioned water. I think there probably won't be grass down there, maybe we'll just till it all up and plant wildflowers or something on the sides of the path. Erin rented a tiller once, she seemed pretty excited about it too.

I brought my tv in to be fixed, Future Shop said it would take up to 60 days (at which point they'd give me a new tv, but before which they would not loan me one or anything) to send away or get fixed, so they sent it to a local place, Damien's. Now, maybe I do have super sensitive hearing, but the thing buzzes. Mr. Damien, or whatever his name is, could hear no buzzing. Luckily, we were able to borrow a tv from my sister, or we would have had a rough, and boring, 2 weeks. So, now I have my buzzy tv back. Hooray.

We watched Syriana. I don't get it. Sorry. It was decent, but not very exciting, and I don't see why George got an Oscar out of it. We also watched Quiz Show (too lazy for links, sorry), which is old, 1994, but good. We had free movie passes since about March, that I jokingly said we had to use by the end of June, thinking surely we'd use them before that. We didn't. They expired on Friday. Nice.

Also, I got a fix and mix frosty, and it was tiny. Not impressed. Good though, I got butterfinger flavour.

I'm going tonight to help Erin pick out a bridesmaid dress. I'm thinking peach with ruffles. Nice.

31 days, seriously. Let's get crackin!
