what do you call a fish with no eye?

fsh.

ha!

so, when it gets that hot in my apartment that my poor fishes are swimming around in 86 / 30 degree water and it should be 79 / 26 degree water, what's a girl to do? I put some ice-cold Brita water in there last night, I don't know if it really helped, since I didn't want to put a lot in, rapid temperature changes aren't good for the little guys. Who knew something so small could be so nerve-racking? If the power goes out when it's cold, they're screwed. If it gets too warm, they're screwed. If the apartment caught on fire...you get the idea.

My algae eater has been slacking off lately, he used to keep the tank so clean I had to feed him algae wafers. Now, there's not a ton of algae, but it's definitely noticeable on the tank walls. I think I'll cut back on the wafers and see if things clear up. He's really quite gi-normous, he should be able to get it clean in like a day. All my other fish are just tiny, then we have Cleatus, who's roughly a foot long nose to tail. The other fish don't seem to mind, except when he takes a psychotic episode and thrashes around the tank. He jumped out one time, and he was so vile to touch. I hope that never happens again, for both of our sakes. When I get a house, I will buy him a super-gi-normous tank, but not before then, because giant tanks are very hard to move.
