I love birthdays. I'll have to take that banner down, it's just silly now!

My grade 10 class sang happy birthday to me yesterday, and most of my students remembered and wished me happy birthday too. My school has a policy where you bring in your own cake for your birthday, that way if you want people to know, they know, and if not, they don't. I wanted everyone to know, obviously. I've also discovered that I'm the youngest teacher at the school. Yay me!

I got home from work to a card and the Bill Bryson book I wanted from Tiresa, who has gone back to Fredericton to be with her husband. Makes sense to me! I'm very much looking forward to when Grant is home here for more than a weekend. Only 3 more months! Tirésa also did the dishes for me, which was very much appreciated, though only noticed a while after I got home.

Jenn and I went out to supper at Jungle Jim's, and had exceedingly large drinks and free cake. She also made me my cake, and it was tas-tay. She also got me Crayola window writers, a (my little) pony, and a (toy) puppy! She couldn't find the Blue Planet vol 1 dvd, it apparently hasn't been released yet, which is odd since I own the other 3. But no matter, it's been ordered and will arrive some time in October. We watched the new show, Joan of Arcadia. I quite like it, it has funny bits, but just seems interesting. It was on opposite Miss Match, which is getting really good reviews, but looks incredibly stupid. If you've watched it and found otherwise, let me know, maybe I'll give it a chance.

Grant was home when I got home, so I got to have birthday fun there too. He got me 2 more glass balls to hang in the window, very pretty. Also some lottery tickets (that I didn't check yet, I may be a millionaire!), and the main thing, a (not *that* kind of) ring. Very pretty, and I'm wearing it on *that* finger, because it fits perfectly. So there. He got me some salt water taffy too, but I think that was more for him than me. We'll probably go out to dinner or something tonight. He doesn't have to go into work this weekend, which is more time for us to hang out. Always a good thing.

Anyway, all in all a good day, now I have to go shower and buy some advil cold and sinus. Sick on my bday? Yeah, I was impressed too. Just a head cold though, nothing too bad.
