Jenn says that this bad boy blogger has a spell checker in it now. It's not finding any errors for me, but maybe it's only when you publish. Anyway, she's also got her 100 things up, so that's very cool. I'm glad we're friends.
I had a good week at school, and we get Monday off, sort of. We have to go to a beginning teachers thing for the day, so we don't have to teach, but we do have to be there for 8:30, so it won't be much of a sleep-in for Tirésa, but it will be for me. 6:07am? Not for 3 days! Grant is coming down this weekend too, and Tirésa has gone to Fredericton, so it's worked out nicely. Jenn's not happy with me though, haha.
Finally a good movie, or good-sounding movie anyway, has come to Famous Players. You see, they have the good popcorn, and you can get Kool-Aid instead of pop in your combo. The movie is Matchstick Men, with Nicholas Cage, Sam Rockwell, and Alison Lohman. It looks entertaining, so I'm planning on going this weekend with Grant.
I also have to revamp my course outline for the grade 12s. I have some students who are actually taking the 11 course this term and the 12 course next term, so I can't have them basically the same. Which is unfortunate, because I have to teach them at the exact same time. There aren't enough students to warrant separate classes, nor another teacher to handle it. I think my 12s are feeling a bit stunted anyway, held back I guess. There are only 7 of them, and they're all really quite talented, so I'm going to take an even more independent approach than I had planned and let them decide exactly what they want to do, with guidance and suggestions from me. The 11s I'll keep structured, they still need it (it's strange the difference a year makes), and there are still a couple of kids at this point taking art for lack of anything else to do; they don't want to do phys ed or tech, so that leaves me, unfortunately. Anyway, I took them outside today to sketch at the wetlands centre, which is a really cool place. It's also the reason there is such a preponderance of dragonflies, I've decided. It's just acres of marshland basically, but it's internationally recognized and praised, and they do a duck banding program every year that's fairly important in ... duck banding circles I suppose. Anyway, it was a beautiful day, I have them last period, and I thought it was a good way to end the week.
This is getting pretty long, with many, many links there at the beginning, so I think I'll end here and go have a quick nap before Grant gets home.
Oh, there's the spellchecker! My buttons didn't load properly, so I didn't see it.
Wow, it doesn't like a lot of words in here. Ironically enough, "blogger" was one of them. Ha!
